This design aims to explore the impact of introduced exotic plants on local ecosystems, particularly focusing on their differences in water resource utilization. Through the analysis and investigation of the current ecological status in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, the exhibition will showcase a comparison between exotic plants and native plants in a community, emphasizing their water consumption. Four distinctive plants will be selected for display, simulating the water supply needs of different plant species under certain conditions. By observing the amount of water required for the growth of these plants under varying water levels, the exhibition aims to reveal potential issues and irrationalities in the introduction of exotic plants. This form of design research aims to raise public awareness of urban ecological protection and enhance designers' ecological awareness of local conditions.
